A change management road map to support a multi-year digital transformation program
In 2023 one of Canada’s leading academic health science centres embarked on a multi-year program to transform their digital space and enable the future of healthcare. Consisting of 50 key projects, this digital transformation program was serving as a foundation for delivering high-quality, life-changing care while helping to address challenges related to staff satisfaction and health human resources shortages. Spanning across every facet of the hospital, the program unfolded amidst a backdrop of severe burn-out and change fatigue. Long-term success hinged not only on a digital transformation but also on fostering a broader people and healthcare transformation. Working in close collaboration with senior executives, Long Point Group developed a communication and change management strategy. To prepare the organization and build an understanding of the interconnectivity and impact of the full digital program, the strategy focused on helping leaders become visible champions and change agents to effectively guide their teams forward.
